Producing Program

Earn your MFA in Producing and take your filmmaking career to the next level. AFI Producers spend two years immersed in honing their craft, learning how to manage the intricate details of propelling a project from story to screen. As part of the producing curriculum, AFI Producers gain hands-on production and development experience, and learn the skills necessary to shape narratives across platforms, identify content, develop material with writers and collaborate with their fellow filmmakers to bring a wide array of stories to audiences.

“My years in the Producing program at the AFI Conservatory were fundamental in shaping who I am as a filmmaker, as a producer and as a creative collaborator. One of the most important lessons I learned as a producer at AFI was how to find my voice.”
